Yes. Held & Rooted is a paid yearly membership.
During our Beta phase, your membership fee helps cover the costs of operating the app, including:
Secure technology infrastructure
App hosting and maintenance
Apple and payment processing fees
Ongoing software development
Security and account protection
At this stage, membership fees do not cover the full cost of operating the Held & Rooted community.
As the platform grows, membership pricing may change to support the continued development, security, and long-term sustainability of the app and community.

Our long-term plan is to transition from Facebook to Held & Rooted.
During Beta, both platforms will remain active while members transition and we continue expanding the app, including the Android version.

Beta means you're one of our Founding Members with early access to Held & Rooted while we continue improving the platform.
During Beta you may experience:
Minor bugs
New features being added
Design improvements
Updates based on member feedback
If you discover a bug, please let us know by sharing what happened, what device you're using, and screenshots if possible. Every report helps us improve the experience for everyone.

Yes.
Held & Rooted does not sell member data or display third-party advertising.
We collect only the information necessary to operate the community.
Content shared within Held & Rooted is visible only to members and is not searchable through public search engines such as Google.

Held & Rooted is a community created specifically for mothers who are raising Black children.
Our mission is to serve this community well by creating a trusted space where mothers can build meaningful relationships and access relevant support.
While we recognize that many families are looking for community, our current focus remains on mothers raising Black children. Additional communities may be developed in the future.

Invitation codes should only be shared with mothers you know and trust.
Your invitation is an endorsement of someone you believe will positively contribute to the community.
Members are responsible for using their invitation codes thoughtfully. If an invited member repeatedly or seriously violates our Community Care Guidelines, the sponsoring member's invitation privileges or membership may also be reviewed.
Protecting the culture of Held & Rooted is a shared responsibility.

Members are expected to:
Treat others with kindness and respect.
Protect the privacy of other members.
Share truthful, helpful, and appropriate content.
Engage in respectful discussions, even when opinions differ.
Use designated spaces for business promotion.
Report content or behavior that violates these guidelines.
The following are not permitted:
Harassment or bullying
Hate speech or discrimination
Personal attacks
Spam
Misinformation
Unauthorized advertising or fundraising
Selling outside approved community spaces
Violations may result in content removal, loss of community privileges, suspension, or permanent removal from Held & Rooted.

Business promotion is limited to the Resources section.
Members may add their own business or professional services as a Resource and may also recommend businesses, nonprofits, and professionals they believe would benefit the community.
Business owners are encouraged to answer questions and share their expertise when it is genuinely helpful, but promotional posts are not permitted in the Q&A feed or Events unless specifically approved by Held & Rooted Administrative Team.
